In general, cannot complain much for the price paid.

Location was superb. Easy access to night street, shopping mall and train station. Taxi to Airport is fast within 30-45mins

Hotel is old and have weird smell. So I bought air freshener to spray the room. Security is lacking as access is not restricted to public. Anyone can take lift to all levels. Booked 3 rooms for 5 days each and one of the room has spoiled safety lock, TV that doesn't work, spoiled hair dryer. However, staff friendly and helpful in changing room upon request. Improvement should be done on the cleanliness and facilities of the hotel since the location is so good

The room was somewhat dirty. The refrigerator was very dirty. The second lock on the front door never works. The inside bathroom door knob pulls off. The towels are very old with a yellow color.

Great value for money

Staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is convenient and accessible. Rooms are big. Overall clean and comfortable. Easy checkin and checkout process. Requested for airport pickup and it was arranged smoothly.

Had a difficult time sleeping with the pillow/mattress. Difficult to shower for seniors since you have to go inside the bathtub to shower. Had to switch rooms because there was no window in the 1st assigned room.

Staff were very kind and approachable - we had limited Mandarin but that was okay. There’s also a 24hr desk which is helpful for checking-in if you’re flight gets in later etc. The location is excellent with access to trains and sightseeing easily. Bedroom was basic but comfortable enough.

No shower curtain so kept wetting the bathroom floor. Owners should give room a face lift to match price. Maybe clean walls & update carpet

The location is perfect ! The staff is extremely accommodating and kind.

The cleanliness was not the best.. bathroom has too much mold around the shower area, especially on the shower curtains. It be good to get a new pair of shower curtains from Daiso. :)

Very pleasant and friendly staff, good room and beds and close to MRT station.

The staff always happy to help and left your belonging untouched. The staff are helpful and trustworthy. The staff can speak a little english but preferably using chinese to communicate with them is better. The beds are clean and comfortable.

The window panel are dusty, air conditioner is not very cold but its cold enough.

Great reception lady

Lady on reception was so helpful and kind. She even helped us get on the WIFI which isn't hard to do. She was just wanting to help. It was quiet yet right in the heart of all the action. So many restaurants and shops just outside. Also at night time many of the shoos are open til 10pm. I actually bought a suitcase at 10.10pm. That would never happen where I'm from. The hotel is only a few minutes from Ximen MRT station and Taipei's "Times Square" and the Red House. It suited us well.

Good location, nearby lots of eateries

Hard to locate as it's in between the alley and location on Google map is not accurate. Room is very old and squeezy (the chairs are too huge and heavy to move about to). Toilet is so small and congested. Not even full proper amenities like shampoo and soap were given, very small packet for a long stay. Had to go buy our own. One of the mornings the cleaning staff came in without even knocking and just unlocked our room while we were sleeping. Expensive for this quality of hotel, was expecting much better for this price.

As per requested, room was given on a high floor with window and a non smoking quiet room.

corridor walkway is small. Door Lock is a one way lock from the outside. We cant double locked it from inside the room. if the two queen beds werent facing each another blocked by a one way television, it will be much better.

I have not been to Shi-Men-Tin, the very downtown of Taipei, for>40 years. Good.

It is located in an alley of a very busy part of Taipei City. The staff was very friendly. They have a big bunch of bananas, and I took two after their encouragement. The staff showed me two identical rooms but in different floors, and offered me to choose one. I don't remember the last time a hotel staff did that. The building is old. Convenience, availability and affordability were the reasons I chose it.

The window looks out to that of the building across the 5-m alley.

Lots of improvement required!

Stay here for location ONLY !

The carpet in the room had a foul odour like it had been badly water damaged previously. It's not just humidity issue. The internal lock had been removed from the door. Air conditioning power was 1/10 Noise - The building is undergoing structural works / drilling / cutting etc ... Hot water takes 5 minutes to heat up Zero security. Anyone can enter building & floors unchallenged. Not recommended for solo female travellers. Only hotel I've stayed at in Asia with a sign in the foyer warning of NO DRUGS. But when you see the type of people loitering outside you understand why. This hotel is 2 stars at best. And that's being extremely kind.
